Dressed in a sparkling eye (and hand)-grabbing costume, Chelsea Angel opens the show with a
lively hula-hoop act that sets the bar for the rest of the evening. The dapperly dressed Adam O’Connor-McMahon provides
some speedy hat juggling entertainment while AJ
Saltalamacchia performs an edge-of-your-seat balancing act on four chairs, which finds a suspenseful (but safe) way to include some audience participation.
O’Connor-McMahon returns with fellow Head First Acrobats ensemble members, Harley Timmerman and Cal Harris who once more throw their hats in the ring, along with the rest of their clothes. The trio perform a comedic ballet that even though has been seen before, there is a distinct Head First Acrobats spin on how it's executed that is not only true to their unique style of circus humour but also gives it some fresh appeal.
However it’s guest artist The Amazing Mr Fish who steals the show with his circus, comedy and mime routine. Armed with his suitcase full of props, including one that gives a hilarious fright for one audience member, and a ten foot unicycle, his act pushes the limits of what the human body can do as he rides the unicycle with one leg while balancing a goldfish on his other foot, and that' not even his finale.
Circus-Cision is an evening of great enjoyment, so it's disappointing when you realise the 60 minutes have passed and the show has come to an end. Each act grabs our attention and captivates us with the skills on display that are worthy of repeat viewings, except for maybe what Harris does with a balloon.
