Wall's traumatic year includes breaking up with their partner, which happened to also be their first break up, and sleeping with straight men, and that's not even the worst of it. The focus of the show is with Wall struggling to speed up the process of "comedy equals tragedy plus time" and while there is plenty of comedy for the audience, Wall allows for a more vulnerable and intimate side of themselves to be on display.
The Bisexual's Lament is one of Wall's most personal works and it is an unexpected surprise to see them in this light. Sure, we still have pussy gifs and the most ridiculous (or is it?) rental crisis encounter in Sydney, but there are quieter moments, or quieter for a Lou Wall show, where we see how fucked up their personal life has been.
While it has been performed in a previous show, Wall knows what the people want and they gladly do an encore retelling of their incredibly bonkers tale of trying to sell a bed frame on Facebook Marketplace and how rapidly it escalates into something that could only happen to Wall.
Wall may have only shared 69 things with us, but you could easily sit there and have them go through the remaining 700+ items. Wall is such a charismatic performer and if The Bisexual's Lament is any indication of where they are heading with their comedy / career then we are in for some very exciting times. And hopefully some happier times for Wall.
